Exhibitions - 2004 - Beckmann-Picasso / Picasso-Beckmann

This exhibition reveals parallels between the work of two major Modern artists, Pablo Picasso and Max Beckmann, who had been exposed to each other's work while in Paris. The exhibition is comprised of many important paintings and an extensive list of drawings and prints by these two powerful 20th century masters. The juxtaposition of works from the inter-war, World War II and post-war periods reveals to the viewer two distinct styles, trajectories and personalities, and to highlights the two artists' shared formal and thematic concerns.

This exhibition is presented in association with Richard L. Feigen & Co.
