Exhibitions - 2003 - Fire Under the Ashes
Fire Under the Ashes confronts the work of Jean-Michel Basquiat with that of Chaissac, Dubuffet, Torres-Garcia and other artists to uncover the shared sources found among them, transcending ties of culture and reputation to create a purely visual experience for the viewer.
Basquiat and these other artists tap into a kind of shamanistic tradition, uncovering traces of the primal instinct to create demonstrated throughout human history.
This exhibition is presented in association with Galerie Enrico Navarra.
